I visited the Drach Caves (Cuevas del Drach), and they are one of the most beautiful caves I have ever seen. Inside, you walk through large chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites, shaped slowly over thousands of years. The highlight is Lake Martel, one of the largest underground lakes in Europe. Sitting in the cave while listening to a short live classical music performance is a truly magical experience.
Like many people mentioned in previous reviews, the caves themselves are really impressive. What ruins the whole experience is the ammount of people they let in at one time (up too 600 people in the cave at the same time in the summer). This takes the magic from the whole experience. It was way too crowded with people not following the rules and still taking photos with flash as well as being loud during the 15minute
Quite amazing! The caves in general are absolutely stunning! Would definitely recommend a visit. The classical recital is a little bit surreal. Could have given that a miss - and also the ‘boat trip’ as it is basically a few minutes across underground lake! All a bit strange, but the caves themselves amazing.
